After months of balancing high-profile careers and navigating public scrutiny, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are finally settling into a more normal phase of their relationship, according to Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce.
The couple’s romance has captivated sports and entertainment fans alike, but after a whirlwind year filled with career highs and setbacks, they are now taking time to focus on each other away from the relentless public eye.
From Super Bowl Victories to Career Setbacks
Kelce and Swift’s relationship coincided with a blockbuster year for both of them.
- Kelce started their romance on a high note, winning Super Bowl LVIII with the Kansas City Chiefs in February 2024. However, a year later, he experienced heartbreak in Super Bowl LIX (February 2025) after suffering a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
- Swift reached unprecedented heights in her career with the record-breaking Eras Tour, solidifying her billionaire status and drawing comparisons to Michael Jackson’s level of global stardom. However, she too faced a personal setback when her latest album was completely shut out at the 2025 Grammy Awards—a rare moment of disappointment for the pop icon.
Despite their individual challenges, the couple has returned to the United States for the NFL offseason, giving them an opportunity to step away from the spotlight and enjoy private time together.

Ed Kelce: “They Finally Have Time Like a Normal Couple”
After months of intense public scrutiny, Ed Kelce revealed that Travis and Taylor are finally able to enjoy their relationship without the pressure of constant media attention.
“I think they really, really enjoy each other’s company,” Ed Kelce told Nine News. “They’ve had a whirlwind romance, you know? They finally have time like a normal couple.”
With Swift taking a break from her touring schedule and Kelce away from the football field, they now have time to simply exhale and be together.
“The girl, she’s not doing the heiress turn. He’s not playing football. Just to exhale,” Ed continued. “Not as though, certainly, the relationship, on either one of their parts, is because of what the other does, all right? Or their notoriety.”
While their relationship initially drew massive media attention, recent reports suggest the couple has been able to go on multiple low-key date nights without attracting much attention—something that seemed nearly impossible just months ago.

Andy Reid Defends Swift Against Critics
Despite Swift’s overwhelming support for Kelce and the Chiefs, she has faced criticism from some fans and analysts, who claim her presence is a distraction to the team.
However, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently came to Swift’s defense, praising how she has handled the spotlight and how Kelce has managed their public relationship.
“She’s a good girl,” Reid told Pro Football Talk Live. “She handles that whole thing the right way, that’s a tough deal. But she does a great job of handling it.”
Reid also emphasized that Swift has been fully embraced by the team, just like the other wives and girlfriends of players.
“Kelce, I think, does a great job with handling it,” he added. “She’s part of the team and like the other girlfriends and wives, they’re part of it. And that’s all part of the process.”

A New Chapter for Travis and Taylor
With the NFL offseason in full swing and Swift’s touring schedule paused, the couple finally has time to step away from the chaos and enjoy a more private life.
Though they will always be one of the most talked-about couples in the world, it seems that Travis and Taylor are prioritizing what matters most—each other.
