Chelsea Freeman was full of pride and excitement as her husband, Dodgers star Freddie Freeman, hit his second home run of the 2024 World Series. Taking to Instagram Stories on Saturday night, Chelsea celebrated Freddie’s third-inning blast in Game 2 against the Yankees, coming just hours after his dramatic walk-off grand slam secured a Game 1 win for the Dodgers.
Captioning her post with a simple but powerful “Another one,” Chelsea captured the moment as the Dodgers extended their series lead to 2-0 with a 4-2 victory at Dodger Stadium.
Freeman, who had been sidelined with a sprained right ankle during Games 4 and 6 of the NLCS, returned just in time for the World Series. His walk-off grand slam on Friday gave the Dodgers a thrilling 6-3 win in extra innings to kick off the series.
Reflecting on that career-highlight moment, Freeman said, “It felt like nothing, just kind of floating. Those are the kind of things, when you’re five years old with your two older brothers playing wiffleball in the backyard, you dream about — two outs, bases loaded in a World Series game.” He dedicated the grand slam to his father, honoring the family support that has shaped his journey.

Freeman’s focus and resilience extend beyond the field, particularly as he and Chelsea navigate their young son Maximus’s battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome.
Diagnosed over the summer, three-year-old Max experienced “full body paralysis” and was hospitalized in early August, spending eight days in the Pediatric ICU. In mid-August, Chelsea shared that Max had made progress, including sleeping through the night, sitting unassisted, and even beginning to army crawl.
The journey has been challenging, with the family juggling frequent doctor visits, physical therapy sessions, and healing time at home.
Earlier this month, Chelsea updated fans with promising news: Max’s neurologist was “very happy” with his progress. “With the help of lots and lots of PT, Max is getting closer and closer to being his normal rambunctious self,” she wrote.
Chelsea expressed gratitude for the continued prayers and support that have helped their family through this difficult time.
Now, as Freeman pursues his first World Series title with the Dodgers, Chelsea and the rest of the Freeman family are cheering him on from home. Game 3 is set for Monday at 8:08 p.m. at Yankee Stadium, where Freeman will look to keep the momentum going in his quest for another championship.
