Colorado’s football team and the Dallas Cowboys have trended in dramatically different directions in recent weeks. Deion Sanders has his bunch as potential outsiders for the College Football Playoffs while Mike McCarthy looks more like a lame-duck coach each week in Dallas.
Due to Sanders’s stint with the Cowboys in the 1990s, many have tipped the coach to jump ship at Colorado and join the NFL side in 2025.
Former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin became the first media member to ask Sanders about the switch on FS1’s “Speak.” After a series of questions, Sanders would prove to Irvin how committed he is to the Buffaloes by showing where his office is.
“No place needs people to encourage people to be better than they really are,” Irvin teased before Sanders interjected with, “Oh man stop that.”

“Besides Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys,” Irving finished. The Colorado coach then went the extra mile to prove his loyalty to his current employers.
“Let me take the computer and talk and show you where I am because I love where I am,” Sanders said as he walked to the window and showed off his view of Folsom Field, the home of Colorado football.
At 7-2, Sanders has the Buffaloes dramatically exceeding expectations. Could he leave and join the 3-6 Cowboys fresh off a 34-6 humbling at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles?

Sanders starred for the Cowboys alongside Irvin from 1995-1999, making three first-team All-Pro squads while helping the franchise win Super Bowl XXX.
Current coach McCarthy is in the last year of his contract with the team. Despite leading Dallas to three consecutive 12-win seasons, it’s likely owner Jerry Jones will move on this offseason.
ESPN analyst and former NFL coach Rex Ryan also tipped Sanders to make the move to Dallas on Tuesday’s episode of ‘Get Up,’ saying, “Deion Sanders may be in play here [for the Cowboys]. They need something.

“They need to have somebody that has the pride in that organization. Being a Dallas Cowboy, the pride you take in it, and by the way, Deion everywhere he’s been has been kicking you know what,” he continued.
“Jackson State, they were unbelievable when he was there. He takes Colorado, right now they’re 7-2. Nobody saw that coming. They’re playing in the Big 12… I’m just saying because Mike McCarthy is a good football coach but he’s going to be out the door, there’s no doubt about it. The whole thing’s going to be blown up…. Watch what happens.”
