BREAKING NEWS: Deion Sanders Makes Bold New Promise for Colorado While Evaluating Shedeur’s Heisman Chances .giang

After earning the No. 23 position in the nation rank, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders says that the Buffaloes are nowhere near done winning games this season.

The Buffs improved to a 6-2 record after defeating Cincinnati 34-23 on Saturday night in front of a rowdy 45,702 fans at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, FL. The Buffaloes were led by the record-breaking arm of Shedeur Sanders, who completed a school-high 15 straight passes en route to 323 yards and two touchdowns.

Before the game, Coach Prime’s Buffaloes wanted to fulfill a promise to 99-year-old Colorado football fan Peggy Coppom that the program would reach a bowl game. After the win made the team bowl-eligible, Sanders urged the message that the team’s ceiling has yet to be reached.

“It’s cute. It really is,” said Sanders after fulfilling his promise. “Because we really want that, but that’s not all we’re after. That’s one of the hurdles that we’re jumping over and going over. That’s a tremendous hurdle that we’re happy, we’re excited, but that’s not the end goal for us,” he continued. “That’s the beginning, but we are thankful and appreciative that the hard work is going noticed.”

Coach Prime then turned his attention to the Heisman Race, which crowns the best college football player at the end of the year. As the award continues to be a seemingly two-person race between Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter and Boise State’s record-breaking running back Ashton Jeanty, Sanders doesn’t understand how Shedeur’s name isn’t also in national conversations. ESPN’s. top Heisman odds feature Jeanty first, followed by Miami QB Cam Ward and Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke.

“I don’t care. I really don’t. It’s just strange and funny to me. I just think it’s just ignorant, but it’s funny to us because Shedeur could care less,” he admitted. “Shedeur wants to be drafted in a wonderful city. He wants to win out. That’s what he thinks about. He ain’t thinking about no darn Heisman, man.”

Coach Prime then mentioned that Hunter is the best college football player in the country without any doubts while also saying with his next thoughts that the NCAA needs to articulate the criteria for the prestigious award. “Because we’re looking at the best high school football player, There hasn’t been a Travis Hunter ever. Ever. And I’m sitting up here saying that.”

With six wins, the Sander-led Buffaloes have already surpassed its best win total since 2016, when Colorado earned ten wins under coach Mike MacIntyre. The Buffaloes have only achieved double-digit wins eight times in its history, dating back to 1902, giving the team another goal to shoot for on the year.

Colorado’s next test will be against an unraked Texas Tech team with a 5-3 overall record, just one win less than the Buffs. The Red Raiders will look to break a two-defeat skid against Baylor and TCU as both teams aim to climb the Big 12 standings.
