Davante Adams joked that his New York Jets teammate Garrett Wilson was at risk of facing Michael Jordan’s wrath after his incredible touchdown.

The Jets wide receiver made one of the best touchdown catches in NFL history against the Houston Texans on Thursday. New York got back to winning ways in the 21-13 victory as they boosted their record to 3-6 with their first victory in five games.

During the fourth quarter, Wilson delivered an incredible grab when quarterback Aaron Rodgers launched a 26-yard pass toward the sideline. Wilson’s enormous leap gave him the chance to stretch up and grab the ball one-handed in a pose similar to Jordan’s iconic brand logo.

After the game, fellow wide receiver Adams spoke to reporters about Wilson’s touchdown where he joked that Wilson’s current endorsement with Adidas could be a trouble as his action mirrored the iconic Jordan logo. “I don’t know, I told him he might get kicked from Adidas after that one,” Adams quipped.

“That one looked like he headed over to Jumpman with me, so we gonna see. I’m gonna talk to some people about that one, but I ain’t gonna say they gonna replace the logo … Mike [Michael Jordan] might not like me saying that, but that was a hard catch.”

Adams wasn’t the only one to make the comparison to the Chicago Bulls legend as Jets defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw labeled the catch “unbelievable,” adding: “He looked like he was Jordan.”

The catch was almost wiped from history as it was originally ruled out of bounds. The play underwent review from officials, and it was overturned. The touchdown put the Jets 14-10 ahead and proved to be the spark that the team needed to break their winless run.

Wilson spoke about what was going through his head at the time of the catch, saying: “Honestly, I’m not thinking about much. How can I make a play? Give myself a chance to make a play. Aaron believed in me.

Once the ball’s going up you got no other choice but to go and try and do what you can do.”

He then admitted his surprise that the call was overturned. “I’m glad they switched the call. I wasn’t so sure they would, and it was a cool play,” he said. We needed it.

“At the end of the day, I pride myself on coming through when we need it. I wasn’t that confident, honestly. I wasn’t that confident,” he continued. “I don’t really know exactly what goes into it, but they said I had the shin down. We’ll take it.”
