Damon Wayans Jr. shared some hilarious memories of living next door to Michael Jordan in the ’90s.

The actor and his dad, Damon Wayans, stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday, Oct. 29, to talk about their new show, Poppa’s House. The CBS sitcom marks the first time the famous father-and-son duo has starred together.

But Hudson was equally interested in hearing about the time NBA legend Michael Jordan moved in next door to the family years ago.

“When he shot Space Jam, he came and he was our next door neighbor for the summer,” Damon Jr., 41, explained.

“First of all, this dude came over way too much,” he joked of Jordan. “I’m like, ‘Bro, you got a movie to shoot or something?’ ”

Damon Jr., who would have been in his early teens around the time that the 1996 comedy was being filmed, joked that his dad would allow Jordan to stop by and eat “all my snacks.”

“And he never wore Jordans,” the Happy Endings star recalled, referencing Jordan’s signature Nike sneakers. “He would just come over in, like, some crusty old Jesus sandals.”

Damon Jr. described the NBA legend’s sandals as “John 3:16s” and “Air Apostles.”

“He would whoop us in basketball,” Damon Jr. added, “but he would be scratching up the whole court with them Jesus [sandals]. And my dad wouldn’t let us clean it because it was, like, Jordan’s scrapes.”

Meanwhile, Hudson had to know whether In Living Color alumnus Damon Sr. would ever consider bringing back the classic ’90s sketch comedy show, created by brother Keenan Ivory Wayans, for a reboot.

“I would love to do In Living Color,” Damon Sr. said, though he noted that doing a full series would be tough considering his starring role on Poppa’s House. But, he said, “I think to do In Living Color specials would be awesome.”
