Blake Corum saw the Los Angeles Rams’ turnaround coming, especially after Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp, Matthew Stafford and the rest of the team were able to get on the same page.
Speaking exclusively to Mirror U.S. Sports shortly after the Rams defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 30-20 – Nacua’s return – on Oct. 24, the 24-year-old explained how Los Angeles could parlay Nacua and Kupp’s skills to a successful season. In particular, the rookie running back shared how the energy the two stars brought was imperative to Los Angeles’ chances to make noise in a crowded NFC West.
“We preach it all the time. Coach McVay, our organization, we preach energy,” Corum said at the time. “We talked about it strictly starting with one, now we’re at two. So just keep building on those and we’ll be successful.”

With Los Angeles winning six of its last eight games, including four in a row, to propel themselves to the top of the division, Mirror U.S. Sports spoke exclusively with the running back regarding how he felt about the Rams’ run, especially with the season coming to a close.
“I feel great, man,” Corum shared. “We’ve been on a roll. We’ve been winning. We’ve definitely been coming together as a team since we started 2-6 [sic], whatever we started. We’ve come together as a team, man. We’ve been hitting at a high level so I feel great.”
And while the rookie feels great on how the season has turned around for the Rams, he does admit that Los Angeles did not execute to their “capabilities.” Part of the Rams’ inconsistencies were injuries, but Corum was quick not to point to that as the main reason why Los Angeles gelled slower than it would like.

“You can take a lot of things into account but not making any excuses,” he continued. “The other team were just finding ways to win and we weren’t. But every since [the Vikings game], we really just came together as a team, working our tails off and we’ve been winning ever since.”
Since that matchup with Minnesota, the Rams’ only two loss were to the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles. During that same span, Los Angeles took down division rivals San Francisco 49ers and the transcendent Buffalo Bills, showing just how dangerous the Rams could be once the pieces fell into place.
With just two games left in the regular season, Corum believes the Rams have “played great” but could play even better in the last games of the year. “We fought through adversity in the beginning of the year, and ever since then, we haven’t really looked back,” he added.

“I think we’ve had two losses in the last 10 games, nine games. I think we’ve been playing at a high level. So I would say this has been a great season, but the season’s not over yet. We’ll see if it will be a great season.”
Before Rams can celebrate a great season, the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks stand in their way. With two division rivals on the docket, Corum believes that Los Angeles has to play its games to be successful.
“I think we just got to do us, no need to change anything,” the rookie said. “Beat the Cardinals this Saturday, and worry about the Seahawks next week. But all we can do is focus on now. Just be us. We’ve been playing at a high level. And so, I think as long as we’re us, we go out there and execute come Saturday night, we’ll be sitting in a good spot.
“We just got to start fast. The Cardinals, they throw a lot of things at you. So just fall back on your training, the training that we’ve been doing all week and good things will happen.”
