NFL icon Bill Belichick, 72, is reportedly planning to pop the question to his 24 year old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson. The couple, who have been spotted together across the U.S. since their relationship was made public in June, seem to be moving at a fast pace towards matrimony.

According to The Sun, Belichick has been seen browsing around 20 different shops in New York and Los Angeles for the perfect engagement ring. The eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach has apparently been contemplating proposing to Hudson for about two months now, even discussing with friends the best way and place to propose.

Despite the ongoing NFL season and his recent departure from the New England Patriots following a disappointing 4-13 season, Belichick plans to wait until the end of the campaign before whisking Hudson away for the big moment.

Despite their 48-year age difference, Belichick feels ‘supported and understood’ by Hudson and is considering spending up to $200,000 on an engagement ring to make the moment truly special.

Belichick is reportedly down to two choices for engagement rings and is planning a romantic getaway with Hudson to the French Riviera, Italy, and Croatia. He’s hoping this vacation will end with a successful proposal.

The duo first crossed paths in 2021 on a flight but only started dating officially earlier this year. Their relationship has garnered mixed reactions due to their age difference, with some NFL personalities voicing their opinions.

Despite this, Belichick has stayed committed to his punditry work, though a return to coaching could be on the horizon. After losing out on the Falcon’s job to Raheem Morris, he’s been suggested as a perfect replacement for Robert Saleh, after the New York Jets fired the head coach.

However, conflicting reports have stated the Jets aren’t considering Belichick at this time, while Belichick is said to have decided he has no interest in returning to the Jets.

Having previously served as a coach with the organization, Belichick was primed to take over as head coach of the franchise in 2000, only to change his mind and resign on a napkin, before taking the New England Patriots job. After ditching New York for New England, Belichick went on to have one of the greatest careers of all time, winning six Super Bowl rings.
