Country star Kelsea Ballerini stopped one of her recent concerts after the crowd directed a nasty chant at her ex.
Ballerini’s song Penthouse from her 2022 album Rolling Up the Welcome Mat is about her divorce from fellow country star Morgan Evans and the heartbreak she endured over their split. As she performed the song during the gig in Florida some fans yelled ”f–k you Morgan”.
Ballerini quickly ticked off the audience and suggested she is now not hurting over her ex. She said: You have to stop that. Seriously. We’re three years past it. Everything’s fine now.” She added: I sing this song for you now. It’s not about me anymore. Please. Please.” The incident comes after Ballerini, who hosts the CMT Awards, was booed by the crowd at the event in April after she announced it would be her last year hosting it.
After the singer paused her gig, she walked to the center of the stage and asked fans who were ”moving forward” with their life to sing with her. She then belted out the songs final verse.
After the pair split after being married for five years, Evans also released a single about their breakup called Over for You. Ballerin got with Outer Banks star Chase Stokes after they broke up and the pair have been dating for two years.
Ballerini won praise from the crowd at a recent concert after she addressed a young fan in the audience who was being bullied at school.
The singer spotted Jacob holding up a sign that read “I get bullied at school because I am a boy and love you”. Ballerini then offered him some words of encouragement, saying as she knelt at the edge of the stage: “I promise you also the person that’s saying mean things, it’s coming from a place of insecurity’.”
In January 2023, Kelsea and Chase first sparked romance rumors after the Netflix heartthrob shared a snap of the pair cuddled up together at a basketball game.
The singer drove her fans wild at one of her concerts after Chase joined her onstage. Speaking as her beau joined her, Kelsea said: “It is the second to last city of this tour,” before adding: “Bring it on home, John B.” The John B reference was a sweet nod to her beau’s portrayal of John B in Outerbanks and a phrase in the show.
