Al Michaels loves his steak – and he isn’t afraid to let the world know.

On Thursday, Michaels’ go-to meal bizarrely stole the spotlight as the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 30-20, at SoFi Stadium during Thursday Night Football. With just over nine minutes remaining in the second quarter, Amazon Prime Video’s broadcast cut away from the game and provided an inside look into Toscana – an Italian restaurant in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles.

“Al, let’s take a peek at this. I think this is one of your favorite stops,” color commentator Kirk Herbstreit began. “Been there a couple of times. A couple of thousand,” Michaels joked.

Once the cameraman took a seat down at a corner table, Michaels’ favorite waiter – Mark – brought over a perfectly cooked steak and side pasta dish to a seat that appeared to be set for the 79-year-old.

“Your waiter, your table, your restaurant … can we get you anything else?” Herbstreit asked. “Get those vegetables out of here. Perfect. That’s what he likes. Mark knows.”

At the bottom of the screen, a hilarious graphic displayed Michaels’ career stats at Toscana, which included 4,121 total trips, 3,672 steaks ordered and zero veggies consumed – marking the “lowest total on TNF crew.”

Michaels’ love for Toscana is no secret after Joe Buck publicly divulged the name of his treasured restaurant on live television Monday. In the closing two minutes of the Raven’s commanding 41-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the ESPN commentator joked that Baltimore fans and sports bettors were the only two groups still sweating the contest.

“Al Michaels is having dinner tonight at Toscana in LA. If he had this headset on, he’d say there are some people starting to sweat the end of this game out… but that’s Al,” Buck quipped.

Addressing the apparent doxxing on-air, Michaels said on Thursday: “Even Joe Buck referenced it on Monday Night Football the other night. Beautiful.” All the talk of fine dining made Herbstreit develop an appetite, as he chimed in, “I’ve got to stop in there. That’s a beautiful meal.”

Michaels expressed a similar sentiment, responding: “Anytime. No veggies, baby. No veggies. You know that.” It appears as though he’s not the only one who isn’t a fan of eating greens, either.

“You know who doesn’t eat veggies, too? Puka Nacua. He’s my, you know, brother in arms. Zero,” Michaels added.

Taking to social media, fans commended Prime Video for the entertaining segment. “This is the best statline of the year,” one X user wrote, with another adding: “Best info graphic ever!”

Others gave Michaels due praise, insisting the longtime commentator deserves a meal fit for a king. “Eating steaks, flying private, and staying at the Ritz. Calls a 3-4 hour game, and make $1 Million each time. Al did his time and now he’s reaping the rewards,” someone else said.
