New York Jets fans showed their distaste for Aaron Rodgers as tickets sold for just $15 amid rumors it was the four-time MVP’s final game of his illustrious career.

Ahead of the Week 18 clash between the Jets and Miami Dolphins, reports emerged suggesting Rodgers could not only be playing his final game for the AFC East franchise but also the final game of his career. The 41-year-old is coming off a torn Achilles and has endured a difficult season in New York.

Despite entering the campaign with Super Bowl aspirations, the Jets are 4-12 heading into the final game of the season versus the Dolphins. The 2024 campaign has been one of the most disappointing in recent memory, and there is plenty of speculation suggesting Rodgers will depart the organization in the offseason.

Jets owner Woody Johnson has reportedly decided the team will move off both Rodgers and veteran receiver Davante Adams following the conclusion of the campaign, with the relationship between the owner and quarterback seemingly done. Earlier this week, Rodgers appeared to suggest his career could come to an end on Sunday.

The future Hall of Famer revealed he will take time before deciding on his future. He told reporters: “I’ll just be enjoying this, I’m trying to stay in the moment. It’s been a long career. I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to be a part of and what I’ve been able to accomplish.

“I need a break mentally. I don’t want to make a decision until I’ve been able to rest mentally and physically… I just need a break to refresh, put my feet in the sand, and see where I’m at after that.”

He added: “March is free agency, I don’t think we’re going to get that far because there’s going to be a regime change here with the GM and then I’ll either get a call or have a conversation and go from there.”

With Rodgers’ illustrious career potentially coming to an end at MetLife Stadium, the ticket prices did not reflect the gravity of the occasion. Tickets were being sold for as low as $15 on Ticketmaster as the Jets sought to end the Dolphins’ slim hopes of reaching the postseason as a wildcard.

Heading into the division showdown against Miami, Rodgers had thrown for 3,623 yards and 24 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions. The 41-year-old’s QBR of 48.2 this season and 41.3 in 2022 in his last two full campaigns are the lowest marks of his career.
