Aaron Rodgers appeared to pick his nose and eat the contents on the sidelines as the New York Jets fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On Sunday Night Football, the Jets were soundly defeated 37-15 by the Steelers as Russell Wilson inspired the AFC North franchise to victory on his first start. Wilson threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns, which was a far more polished performance than Rodgers.

The four-time MVP struggled at times, completing 24 of 39 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown along with a pair of interceptions. Both picks were snagged by Beanie Bishop Jr, although the second was largely the fault of Garrett Wilson as the receiver let the ball pop out of his hands and into the arms of the rookie cornerback.

While sat on the sidelines as the Steelers appeared destined to emerge victorious, NBC cameras caught Rodgers appearing despondent. He was also seen picking his nose, and the veteran quarterback appeared to eat whatever he pulled out.

Social media users were largely amused by the clip. One fan quipped: “His third pick of the game.”

“Yeah have him benched for the rest of the season,” another added. One wrote: “And just like that…his stance on the vaccine and everything else suddenly makes sense.”

“Dude targeted his mouth with more boogers than DaVante Adams with the ball,” claimed another. On Davante Adams’ Jets debut, Rodgers found the receiver just three times on nine targets for 30 yards.

After the game, Rodgers claimed energy within the Jets camp was low ahead of kickoff. He told reporters: “I mean I just felt like the energy, it starts with me, the energy for whatever reason at halftime was a little flat. I felt like it was flat before the game too.

“It’s Sunday Night Football, so look at myself and what I can do to bring better energy but we all gotta do better.”

The Jets have been boosted by the return of Haason Reddick, who ended his contract holdout on Sunday. The pass-rusher will add some serious talent and experience to the defensive line at a time when the unit needs a boost after slipping to 2-5.

Meanwhile, the Steelers are now 5-2 after Wilson shrugged off his early rust to dominate. The veteran found a rhythm with deep touch passes and completed five passes to star receiver George Pickens, who finished with 111 yards and a touchdown.

The Jets are next in action against the 1-6 New England Patriots in Foxborough on Sunday, Oct. 27.
