If you have been hanging out with us for some time now, then you know that pups can become friends with every single species – no matter their shape or size.
From cats, raccoons, and even rats, we have covered it all!
However, today’s furry friend found companionship in somebody who he can only look at. And, let me tell you, he does it perfectly!
A Quite Unique Friendship
Just like any dog, Morty, the Corgi, loves spending time outside.
The second his hoomans open up their backdoor, he runs to the yard but not for the reason you might think.
He doesn’t go outside to run around or play with his brother – he goes to look at the fish!
“Whenever we let them out, Morty runs straight for the koi pond. He doesn’t want to hurt the fish. He just literally loves them,” Kingsley told The Dodo.
While he was hanging out with them one day, however, Morty got a little too close to the pond and fell in.
So, in order to keep him safe, his hoomans decided to sign him up for swimming lessons. But, there was just one issue – Morty hates water.
He would just walk around the pool, barking at it and refusing to get in.
Morty would do something similar whenever he was at the koi pond, except he wouldn’t be barking, all he would do was watch the koi slowly swim by.
Friendship Knows No Boundaries
When Morty gets overly excited, however, he starts barking way too loud.
His hoomans then try to bribe him inside the house with some yummy snacks.
“I don’t want to disrupt our neighbors so when he gets overly excited hanging out at the koi pond, I always have to bring him back with food. He is very food motivated,” he added.
Luckily, Morty’s hoomans found a way for their sweet boy to hang out with the fish on land, too – by buying him stuffed ones.
The second he found himself face to face with one, he was absolutely head over heels! He actually liked it so much that they had to get more.
But, they were never able to replace the real thing!
“He still loves his fish. I feel like it reinforced it. He just went back to being obsessed with the koi,” he added.
Final Word
Dogs are just so precious.
Their hearts are so full of love that they give it away to every living being.
That is why we have to protect them at all costs! We as hoomans must make this world a good place so that our furry friends can have everything they need to lead happy and healthy lives.
They deserve it.
