FOX Sports celebrated FOX NFL Sunday’s impressive run as the most-watched pregame show for 31 years by showing a flashback of Terry Bradshaw.

Back in September 1994, FOX NFL Sunday debuted and started its run as the official pre-game show for NFL broadcasts on the network. The show has been on the air for 31 years, and it has been the most-watched NFL pregame show for every one of those 31 successive seasons.

Given the constantly evolving landscape of sports media, the consistent success FOX has found with the show is genuinely impressive. The pregame show starring Curt Menefee, Howie Long, Jimmy JohnsonMichael Strahan, Rob Gronkowski, Jay Glazer, and Bradshaw finished the 2024 regular season averaging 4.4 million weekly viewers.

While the likes of Strahan and Gronkowski are more recent additions, names like Bradshaw, Long, and Johnson have become part of the Sunday football fabric. During his illustrious playing career, Bradshaw played 14 seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning four Super Bowl titles and an MVP award.

Bradshaw is a respected voice when it comes to the NFL, and a popular mainstay on ‘FOX NFL Sunday’. To mark the milestone, FOX Sports shared a fun video of the opening minute from the first-ever episode of ‘FOX NFL Sunday’ first-ever show, showing Bradshaw, Long, and Johnson along with James Brown.

Fans enjoyed the clip, with one writing, “This is an awesome flashback.” Another complimented Bradshaw, posting: “Terry don’t look a day over 30.”

“Definitely changed how sports on television were broadcast,” one posted. One fan speculated if Bradshaw was set to retire from his role, questioning: “Hmmm, you’re celebrating Terry’s longevity with Fox Sports … why? Will he retire after this season?”

Recently, Bradshaw sparked more concerns while making several mistakes during his NFL analysis. In Week 7, Bradshaw was breaking down a matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, but Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans highlights were playing and it took him a few moments to realize what was happening.

“Whoops, wrong one,” Bradshaw said. The Hall of Famer has also dealt with numerous health issues, including a cancer diagnosis, which has led to fans urging Bradshaw to take his foot off the gas and step away from television for his own sake.

But the 76-year-old remains as passionate for the game as ever and serves as a fountain of experience and knowledge for both his co-hosts and his fans. He is an incredibly popular figure on ‘FOX NFL Sunday’, and the audience will hope Bradshaw remains on TV for as long as possible provided he can.
