Brenda Song‘s interactions with the online world have been shaped by her time growing up in the spotlight.
The Last Showgirl actress opened up to Bustle about how unlike many of her peers, she’s not into taking photos all the time or sharing them on social media.
“I grew up in front of the camera. I am not someone that, at a concert, takes video because I would much rather enjoy this moment and go back to the feeling than look back at a video,” the 36-year-old said.

Song went on to share that she didn’t get a cell phone until she was 16 years old. She did have a two-way pager that she bought at the urging of her Get a Clue costar, Lindsay Lohan, while they were filming in Toronto, however.
“She got it and she made me save up all of my per diem. We went to go get our little two-way pagers together,” Song recalled.
Song’s fans also loved her character, London Tipton, in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Despite the girly-girl persona, behind the scenes, Song’s space reflected her intense love of basketball, particularly the Lakers.
“I have a Lakers championship ring with my name on it,” she told the outlet. “When you walked into my dressing room at the Suite Life, you would walk into a life-size cutout of Kobe Bryant. I was all Laker’d out. I watched 82 games a season. They had to put a monitor underneath the stages.”
