Prince Harry is set to celebrate his fifth Christmas in the USA with Meghan Markle and their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The Duke of Sussex, who celebrated his 40th birthday this year, has been mostly absent from the UK since stepping back from Royal duties in 2020. The Duchess, aged 43, was last seen in Britain at the Queen’s funeral in 2022. With the family rift ongoing, a British holiday season seems doubtful for the couple.

Despite Harry’s stated happiness in America, rumors suggest he’s pondering a UK base, as reported by the Scottish Daily Express. An old friend hints that an unexpected Royal might help Harry spend more time in Britain.

Tommy Severn, a polo acquaintance of the Royal brothers, warns that a UK return could make Harry look like an “idiot”. Severn, whose family knows both Harry and Prince William, says William has been hurt by Harry’s public criticisms and his memoir, Spare.

King Charles wants to connect with his grandchildren, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, but William seems less ready to mend fences. However, Severn thinks William could be the key to Harry’s potential return, as per the Daily Mail, reports the Daily Record.

He said: “I think Harry’s cut ties so if he came back now, he’d look like an idiot. William might help him because they were close – that’s the brothers bond.”

Meanwhile, Severn threw shade at Harry’s latest Netflix venture, a show called ‘Polo’ that’s been met with thumbs down from audiences and critics. In his view, it’s the missing Royal glam due to Harry and Meghan’s brief cameos causing the flop. He remarked: “It seemed to be more about Timmy and Tim Dutta than the Prince, who doesn’t appear until near the end.”

The last time King Charles and Prince Harry were in the same room together was in February 2024. This meetup came after the king’s cancer diagnosis was announced. They met for less than 24 hours at Clarence House. It has been two years since William and Harry were last seen together in public, and it was at the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
