Charlie Woods humorously declared “I’m broke” to his father Tiger after scoring his first career hole-in-one at the PNC Championship.
The Woods duo put on a formidable show, finishing the 36 holes with a stunning 28 under par. This performance placed them in a tie for the top spot with Bernhard and Jason Langer, leading to a playoff against the reigning champions.
The German pair captured victory with an eagle at the very first playoff hole, but it was still a weekend full of highlights for Team Woods.

The excitement peaked during the second round when Charlie achieved an ace on the 176-yard par three fourth hole in Orlando. Woods Snr, who is known for his intense concentration and steely presence on the green, couldn’t contain his joy as he flashed a wide smile and warmly embraced his son by the tee.
But, true to the sports traditions, the 15-time major champion soon reminded his 15-year-old son about one of golf’s oldest customs: a hole-in-one scorer owes a drink to all fellow players present on the course at the time. “You’re buying for everyone out here,” Tiger, who has a jaw-dropping reported net worth of around $1.3billion, informed his shocked son.
Showing youthful reluctance to part with his money, Charlie responded: “I’m not buying. I’m broke,” reports the Express. However, Charlie found no solace from his sister Sam, who was caddying for the team. “You’re buying,” she insisted.

The golf icon reaffirmed the obligation, explaining: “You’re buying. He has to buy. That’s protocol for making a hole-in-one. Round on you bud.” Woods Sr. didn’t hold back with the teasing even after the competition had ended, reminding his son that he was way ahead of him on the scoreboard when it came to a career milestone.
“It was awesome, don’t get me wrong,” he noted, discussing Charlie’s achievement. “But he’s 15… it’s about time. I had my first ace aged six.” Yet, despite their near miss at victory, the legendary golfer celebrated the special time on the green with Charlie. “For us to have that experience together, I know we didn’t win, but it was the fact that we competed.”
He praised their joint effort, adding: “No one really made a mistake out there, we had to earn it and that’s what you want to have. Hats off to the Langers – they played amazing.”
