New York Giants legend turned NFL analyst Michael Strahan playfully poured out his frustration over his former team’s disastrous season during NFL on FOX’s pregame show.

The Giants hold a 2-12 record and have become the league’s worst teams, leaving Strahan to laugh through the pain of his beloved franchise. Curt Menefee, the show’s host, did his signature around the league segment of Sunday’s matchups and asked Strahan bluntly, “Do the Giants need a complete overhaul?”

The honest question struck a nerve with Strahan, who has never shied away from defending his Giants. He openly aired his grievances but first said, “Why you gonna do this to me, Curt?” exhaling deeply, clearly bracing himself. “We’re supposed to be friends, man.”

The gut punch continued when the former defensive end said, “You know that I’m crying inside, outside, everywhere,” He then rattled off a list of unfortunate stats, including nine straight losses [tied for a franchise worse], no wins at MetLife Stadium, and a franchise that has lost its way since winning its last Super Bowl in 2011.

“The New York Rangers have won more games at that stadium than the Giants have. That’s not a joke anymore.”

The room erupted in laughter, but Strahan’s words carried some truth. The team let one of its best offensive players, Saquon Barkley, join the division rival Philadelphia Eagles, and he’s already made an instant impact as a candidate for the league MVP. They committed to QB Daniel Jones over Barkley but then cut the starting QB, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings, who are tied for first in the NFC North with the Detroit Lions.

The comments came prior to the Giants-Falcons matchup. By halftime, New York trailed 17-7, heading toward another likely loss. While Strahan was joking around with Menefee, his raw and heartfelt remarks about the team that followed seemed to encapsulate the mood of Giants fans.

One fan wrote, “Burn down MetLife,” hoping for a fresh venue to establish home-field dominance. Historically, Metlife Stadium hasn’t been good for the Giants or New York Jets. The Giants hold a 54-68-1 record at the venue since 2010, including when the building was known as New Meadowlands Stadium.

Strahan’s critique of the Giants is justified by his 15-year Hall of Fame career with the organization, including a Super Bowl victory against the New England Patriots in 2008. Over his career, Strahan recorded 141.5 sacks, all in a blue jersey.

He retired as the team’s all-time leader and ranked fifth in NFL history at the time behind Hall of Famers Bruce Smith, Reggie White, Kevin Greene, Julius Peppers, and Chris Doleman. Strahan also earned seven Pro Bowl selections, was named First-Team All-Pro four times, and made the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 2000s.
