NFL icon Terry Bradshaw grew emotional while visiting his childhood home in a trip down memory lane.
The 76-year-old was served a blast from the past during a December 2021 episode of The Bradshaw Bunch. The four-time Super Bowl champion was eager to give his family a sense of his humble origins, long before NFL fame saw him become one of the most recognisable faces in American football.
The Bradshaws took their show on the road and made the journey from the family ranch in Oklahoma to the site of the star’s birth. And the FOX NFL Sunday panellist lit up when he caught a glimpse of what he thought was his first house growing up.

“I was raised in that house,” said the Pittsburgh Steelers icon as family RV drove down the street he grew up on. However, Bradshaw was quickly corrected as a producer onboard pointed out the building in question wasn’t in fact his former abode.
The former quarterback – who played the whole of his 14 NFL seasons in Pittsburgh – eventually found the right property and took his chance knocking on the door. The current resident then answered and was stunned to see Bradshaw, who responded by playfully asking: “What are you doing in my house?!”

“Going back to my house that I grew up in, that made me get emotional because most of my family has passed away,” he said in a confessional to the camera. “I miss them…”
Walking through the modest home, Bradshaw explained how he and his family once shared a single bedroom between three. And he grew excited as he mapped out the home layout, including the location of their black-and-white television, where he and his brothers would watch the ‘Howdy Doody’ show.

FOX NFL Sunday star Bradshaw’s heart was also warmed when local residents came out in their droves to get a sighting of the gridiron legend in his home setting. Fans of the hometown hero pulled out trading cards of the icon to get autographs and photos, with many understandably stunned to see him show up.
Bradshaw’s daughters, Rachel and Erin, soaked up the atmosphere and were evidently proud of their father as he shared his “humble beginnings”.
The Pittsburgh great’s success on the field gave his children the kind of upbringing he could have only dreamed of, and no-one appreciated the extent of his journey quite like the big man himself.
