Tom Brady tried Turducken for the first time while his reaction was recorded live on FOX Sports’ broadcast of the Dallas Cowboys win over the New York Giants.

Brady had been on the call alongside Kevin Burkhardt, with the two being given Turducken to try in the fourth quarter, with the legendary quarterback eating it for the first time and joking he was done broadcasting for the day.

The dish became popular through former FOX co-commentator John Madden, who would religiously speak about Turducken when not many had known about it – consisting of a huge turkey opened up, with duck and chicken breast inside. Players and commentators eating Turducken has become a tradition of itself on Thanksgiving Thursday, with Brady taking a break to try his for the first time at the start of the fourth quarter.

Brady joked: “I’m bailing. You guys have a good night. This is awesome. That is tasty. Where are the sides? I’m getting a plate. Screw this, I’m eating.” Burkhardt added: “That’s a first time calling a play while eating a Turducken… Right, back to football. Tom, you enjoy.”

At the two-minute warning, FOX cameras showed a Turducken feast ready for members of the winning team, which ended up being the Cowboys. Brady said: “That was phenomenal. Mine’s still sitting over there. I’m waiting to dig in as soon as we put these headsets down.”

Brady is in his first season as a color commentator, being criticized at time for his performances on the microphone with many believing that he’d been taking it too easy when it comes to criticizing players. Due to his incredible experience earned playing the quarterback position for 23 seasons while winning seven Super Bowl’s, many have been left wanting more from his analysis

However, others have noted his improvements as the week had gone on, with some comparing him to Tony Romo, who also admittedly struggled in his first season before impressing later in the year to now being among fans’ favorites.

Brady is set to call the Super Bowl this season with FOX having broadcast rights, with him set to call the Chicago Bears’ game against the San Francisco 49ers next week.
