Aaron Rodgers wants to continue his NFL career despite tension with the New York Jets. Online speculation continues about where the 41-year-old quarterback could suit up next after reports suggest that he was nearly benched this season for backup Tyrod Taylor if it wasn’t for team owner Woody Johnson being outnumbered with the choice.

Johnson reportedly considered benching the veteran quarterback earlier this season after New York lost 10-9 to a Denver Broncos team with just 186 total yards. The offensive output and Rodgers’ play seemingly frustrated Johnson after the QB completed 24 of 42 passes for 225 yards with no touchdowns.

With a 3-9 overall record and the Jets struggling to meet expectations, the team’s playoff window continues to close at the Buffalo Bills dominate the AFC East with a 9-2 record. Rodgers could be looking for a fresh start to end his career, so here’s a closer look at the teams that could potentially land the Super Bowl champion as he approaches the final chapter of his decorated career.

The Vikings have shocked NFL fans this season with a five-game winning streak, mostly due to the unexpected and exceptional play of Sam Darnold, who ranks fifth in passing touchdowns with 19. But Darnold’s future in Minnesota remains uncertain, as he could opt out of his contract with head coach Kevin O’Connell next season.

Darnold’s agent will likely command a much higher salary than his current one-year salary of $10 million. With offensive weapons like Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and a solid offensive line, the Vikings could offer Rodgers an opportunity to compete for another championship, which would be the first in NFL history. In his playing days, the Packers icon Brett Favre chose to wear a rival purple jersey, laying the blueprint for Rodgers to follow.

The Raiders quarterback carousel has been a low point in their 2-8 season. Gardner Minshew’s struggles and Aidan O’Connell’s stint on injured reserve have left the team in shambles and caused coach Antonio Pierce to be upset.

Rodgers would be joining the former team of close friend Davante Adams, who left the Raiders because of frustration with the team’s performance. With young stars like tight end Brock Bowers, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, and defensive stalwart Maxx Crosby, the Raiders could give Rodgers the support he needs to thrive.

The Raiders are also projected to have the third-most cap space in the league next season, making it financially feasible to sign the veteran quarterback.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts are a dark-horse contender for Rodgers’ services out of the bunch. While second-year QB Anthony Richardson has shown flashes of brilliance, the team’s decision to temporarily bench him earlier in the season for veteran Joe Flacco raised questions about his readiness to lead.

Richardson returned to his starting job, but Rodgers could be the bridge Indianapolis needs to stay competitive while Richardson develops. The Colts remain in the playoff hunt, two wins behind the Houston Texans, and feature a solid defense and a talented offense featuring Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., and Alec Pierce.

Rodgers well-documented friendship with Pat McAfee, a Colts fan, former player, and Indianapolis resident, could make the fit even more appealing. Plus, the old saying, “If you can’t beat them, join them,” applies, as Rodgers holds a career 1-4 record against Indy.
