Bryce Underwood has officially switched his allegiances after decommitting from LSU to join Michigan, with Tom Brady getting involved in recruiting the exciting quarterback.
Underwood confirmed his intentions to join the Wolverines ahead of the 2025 season, with him seen as the number one high school player in the nation – while growing up and playing just 20 minutes from Michigan Stadium.
The decision was announced on Friday, with news emerging that Brady himself had a FaceTime conversation with the quarterback, per CBS Sports, with the two maintaining a relationship and the legendary figure acting as a mentor to the 17-year-old talent.

Brady, of course, spent four years with Michigan before graduating and being drafted to the NFL in 1999 – going on to cement his legacy as the greatest of all time with seven Super Bowl rings.
Underwood has yet to speak publicly on his his decision to decommit from LSU in favor of Michigan, but it looks to be a smart decision for his career with the Tigers’ current situation at the quarterback position. Although Garrett Nussmeier is eligible for the NFL Draft, it’s likely that he will return for his senior year to enhance his reputation and odds of being drafted higher down the line. Nussmeier staying with the team would most likely mean that Underwood would be redshirted for his freshman season – having a real opportunity to start for the Wolverines.
After winning the National Championship last season, Michigan has struggled under center in 2024, using three different quarterbacks this season after losing JJ McCarthy. Meanwhile, LSU has also struggled this year, losing Jayden Daniels as well as Brian Thomas Jr and Malik Nabers in the first round of the draft.
