Muhammad Ali’s grandson and current boxer Nico Ali Walsh has brandished Jake Paul an ’embarrassment’ after watching his fight with Mike Tyson on Friday evening – going on to state that Ali would have called him out for his actions.

Paul scored a comfortable victory over Tyson, winning by over six rounds on all three of the judges scorecards, but not too many have praised his performance – failing to land many significant strikes throughout the bout while admitting that he did not want to knockout his opponent.

Tyson had been nursing a knee injury which had been evident as he walked toward the ring, while gassing out after just one round and struggling to get near Paul, looking slow and sluggish as the fight grew on.

But despite Tyson struggling to put together any sort of offense in the fight, Paul himself failed to land many significant strikes – instead winning the fight with his speed and athleticism while givng the legendary 58-year-old little chance to keep up with him in the ring.

Paul had been criticized coming into the fight for making a fight with a man 31 years his elder, while stating that he has title aspirations, with his lacklustre performance unlikely to turn any heads from Friday evening.

And while numerous boxers have called out Paul, a grandson of the man considered to be the greatest of all time has had his say. Ali Walsh tweeted: “Jake Paul is an embarrassment to this sport. If my grandfather was still around, he’d call him out. Absolutely no shame… Love you Mike.”

Paul and Ali Walsh have history with one another, with the grandson of the legendary figure stating that he was offered a significant deal to face him before explaining why he rejected the fight.

After a recent win, Ali Walsh said: “Morally it was an easy choice. I said no before I even heard the numbers. I believe it was upwards of $3 million. Of course, that would be money that I’ve never made in my career. That would be money that I’ve never even seen before. But is everything really money? That’s how I was raised. You’ve got to ask yourself how much does your pride cost? How much are you willing to sell out for?

“Because that’s exactly how it is, at least in my book. Anyone else can do it. But for me, I’m an Ali, I hold my name in such higher weight, I don’t believe I should be playing in the mud with the likes of Jake Paul.”

Paul had replied, seemingly admitting that the offers had been true. He had said: “I been trying to fight this fraud and now he admitted he ducked me but calling me a circus act.”

Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia and Tony Bellew have also called out Paul for the bout with Tyson, after he moved to an 11-1 record in what was Tyson’s first professional bout since 2005.
