Receiver Tyreek Hill will play on Monday Night Football as the 2-6 Miami Dolphins look to turn their season around against the 4-4 Los Angeles Rams.
Hill was originally listed as questionable due to a torn ligament in his wrist. ESPN’s Lisa Salters reported that his injury was a problem during the team’s offseason training camp and he told her it was aggravated during his arrest prior to Week 1.
The Dolphins receiver was pulled over for a traffic violation on his way to Miami’s opening game of the 2024 season against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hill was subsequently detained and forced to the ground after a verbal altercation with law enforcement.
Speaking after Miami’s victory, Hill said “‘What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?’ Lord knows what those guys would have done.”

The 30-year-old still suited up and posted 130 receiving yards and a touchdown in the 20-17 victory. He mimicked his arrest with teammate Jaylen Waddle following his score.
With quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in and out of the Dolphins lineup this season following his concussion in Week 3, Hill is having arguably the worst season of his career. His injury issues likely haven’t helped either.
His 446 receiving yards through eight games put him on pace to have his first sub-1,000-yard season since 2019. Last year, Hill led the NFL with 1,799 yards.

The Dolphins have reached the playoffs two consecutive seasons but look to be major outsiders in 2024. Sitting at 2-6, they’ll need Hill to have a strong game against the Rams on Monday to help turn their season around.
When Tagovailoa returned to the team in late October, Hill was initially bullish about Miami’s chances. “We’re back, baby. We’re so back, baby. Nobody can stop us. Start me this week [fantasy owners],” he joked. “I know that sounds crazy, but he’s a big part of this team.”
“[Tagovailoa] looked great in practice. Felt like old times,” Hil said. “Me and him connected on a few deep shots and that kind of got me feeling good. I missed that and I missed him.”

Ahead of Monday night’s game against the Rams, Hill sounded far more somber. “This process is hard, bro. Losing sucks,” he admitted.
“Everybody wants to think, ‘Oh, it’s time to make plays, it’s time to go outside the scheme.’ Nah man, we just got to stick together as a team and just trust the process.”
The Dolphins acquired Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the 2022 season for a package featuring a first-round pick. The 30-year-old is a five-time First-team All-Pro and eight-time Pro-Bowler in his nine-year NFL career.
