Jake Paul’s mom has shared her understandable worry over her son’s upcoming fight with boxing legend Mike Tyson.
Despite staunchly supporting Jake and his brother Logan’s boxing adventures, Pam Stepnick couldn’t hide her anxiety when her son broke the news about his upcoming bout with ‘Iron Mike’. The YouTube sensation turned pugilist revealed that his mother was downright “terrified” and repeatedly questioned whether he was truly ready for such a formidable opponent.
Pam has been a constant presence ringside, cheering on both her sons in every fight. She even travelled to Saudi Arabia to witness Paul’s fight against Tommy Fury in December 2023. Earlier this year, Paul shared insights into his mother’s fears regarding the Texas showdown.
“She will be there but my mom is very scared actually,” he said, as per Bloody Elbow. “Like, she keeps on asking me if I’m ready, asking my team if I’m ready. She’s not liking this one, to be honest. He (Tyson) just looks scary and big, and his Instagram videos on the mitts look crazy and everything, so I get it.”

In a candid video clip from March, Jake asked his mom if she knew he was slated to fight Tyson, prompting a nervous chuckle from Pam. She then posed the unsettling question, “What if he knocks you out?”.
However, it’s not just Paul’s mother voicing fears. In a YouTube video, Jake quizzed his dad, Greg Paul, on who his top boxer was, and without hesitation, the 61-year-old named Tyson as his favorite, reports the Irish Star.

When Jake hinted at fighting Tyson, his father was visibly shocked and cautioned him against it, saying: “No way, dude, are you f*****g kidding me, Jake? He’s going to be the hardest-hitting motherf****r you’ve ever fought. Dude, holy f***, I’m going to be freaking out.”
Despite Tyson being past his prime, the boxing legend is buzzing for their bout. The initial plan was for Paul and Tyson to square off in July, but the latter had to delay due to health issues.
Now, the 58-year-old icon, who last battled Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition match four years ago, is feeling the electricity of the event. Speaking with talkSPORT Boxing, Tyson shared his excitement.

“I’m going to fight in the biggest arena ever and it’s going to be sold out, and who else can do that?” he said. “It makes me feel like I have to perform. They’re giving me all that inspiration and letting me know that ‘boy, you’ve got to perform tonight’. It’s time to perform.”
The highly anticipated fight will be streamed live on Netflix. Moreover, a staggering crowd of over 80,000 fans are predicted to flood the venue in Arlington, Texas on November 15.
While there is wide concern for Paul ahead of the face-off, his only defeat in 10 fights has come against Tommy Fury last year. Tyson will now surely have to live up to his promise and “perform” if he wants to avoid defeat against ‘the Problem Child’.
