Amon-Ra St. Brown sent a message to Green Bay Packers fans when he arrived at Lambeau Field on Sunday donning a hoodie reading “Green Bay Sucks.”

Midway through the third quarter, St. Brown’s Detroit Lions led the Packers 24-3 en route to a comfortable 24-14 win – the team’s third in a row at Lambeau. The win keeps the 7-1 Lions top of the NFC North ahead of the 6-3 Packers.

St. Brown was one of the offensive stars for Detroit, catching a game-high seven passes for 56 yards and a score in the blowout victory.

His highlight of the day was his touchdown reception from quarterback Jared Goff to start the second quarter on a key fourth-and-goal. The shifty receiver came in motion from right to left to fool the Packers defense.

Goff lobbed the ball to St. Brown on an interesting-looking stutter-and-fade over defender Keisean Nixon. The ebullient 25-year-old receiver celebrated by standing on his head in the Green Bay endzone.

St. Brown undeniably received inspiration for the move from a near-identical celebration from a receiver at Division-1 Subdivision school Incarnate Wood. The clip of that touchdown received six million views on X in one day.

St. Brown then proceeded to shush the jeering Green Bay Faithful. He appeared to whimsically stare down one Packers fan giving him the finger.

Fox announcer Tom Brady was particularly impressed with St Brown’s route. “Wait till you see this route. I’ve never seen a route like this,” a bemused Brady said.

“Goff makes a great throw in tough conditions, What a player St. Brown is, and Goff has all the trust in the world in him. What an answer.”

The Lions selected St. Brown in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He blossomed as the team’s #1 wideout in 2022 with his first 1,000+ yard season.

The 25-year-old was a First-Team All-Pro in 2023 after hauling in 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns in 16 games as the Lions marched all the way to the NFC Championship Game.

St. Brown entered the week slightly off his usual pace, having recorded just 408 receiving yards and five touchdowns through seven games.

The 7-1 Lions will take on the 6-3 Houston Texans on the road next Sunday as they look to stay on top of the NFC North.
