Simone Biles showed off her massive luxury tour bus that she will be spending most of her time in, though she will be without her husband Jonathan Owens.
In a video posted to her personal TikTok, the legendary Olympian showed her fans where she will be staying for more than a month as she embarks on the “Gold Over America Tour.” Also known as “GOAT,” the showcase will feature Biles and other Olympic gymnasts showing their skills to crowds all over the United States.
Joining Biles are Olympic stars Jordan Chiles, Paul Jouda, Frederick Richard, and Hezly Rivera, among many others. Considering how Biles will be visiting 30 cities with 32 stops in the next six to seven weeks, the 27-year-old will have little time to fly from city to city, which makes having access to a luxury tour bus a necessity.
“Here’s a bus tour nobody asked for,” Biles’ TikTok video began. “I’ll be here for about six to seven weeks while I’m on tour.” From there, the Olympic legend showed off the various amenities the tour bus has to offer, with a handful of selfie mirrors, two bathrooms, and a very spacious living area.
On the bus, there is an area specifically for her security team and other family members who will be going with Biles throughout her journey around the country. That said, while Biles is going from city to city, she will be doing so without Owens, her husband.
Owens is a safety for the Chicago Bears and as such, will have his own travels to go on as the team attempts to secure a playoff spot. What makes it easier for Owens to go about the season without Biles is the fact that the Bears will have four away games in the next seven weeks.
The Bears will be traveling to Arizona, Michigan, California and Minnesota in four of the next seven weeks, with home games against the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. By the time Biles’ tour ends, she and Owens will be able to be together once again.
Biles’ progression from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to now is day and night, considering how traumatic the previous Summer Olympics were for the American star. Because of how her mental health was affected during her time in Japan, Biles admitted she had a secret “forbidden Olympic closet” at her home she would go into and cry.
In her documentary series called “Simone Biles Rising,” the star showed the crew she kept all the mementos from her journey to Tokyo, including her 2021 Team USA pins, a ticket from San Francisco to Japan, and her Team USA face mask, among other items. Instead of giving mementos to other Olympians, she kept them all in this one closet as a reminder of her pain.
A lot of this stuff is good keepsake, but its in this closet because I never really come in this room. I used to sit here and just cry and cry and cry and ask god why this happened to me, Biles revealed about her experience with “the twisties.”
Even touching it is like [winces]. But, you know, sometimes you have to take that power back. Biles took the power back in a big way in Paris, winning three gold and one silver medal.
Despite her advanced age, at least for a gymnast, she is contemplating a return to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Never say never, Biles said to Jimmy Fallon. Next Olympics are at home. So you just never know. I am getting really old.
