Former LIV Golf player Branden Grace has admitted he only has himself to blame after being relegated out of the league for the 2025 season.
Grace’s form had dipped significantly this past year with him being named as one of the players to be cut from the roster, including Scott Vincent, Kieran Vincent, and Kalle Samooja. After being relegated, Grace and the other names now must compete elsewhere in the hopes of getting back in contention to play on the tour in further years – with all stars joining the Asian tour.
Grace has already started strongly in Thailand this weekend with a third-round score of 65, knowing he must now continue to put in big scores if he’s to make it back to LIV Golf.

After being related, Grace said: “I have to do what I have to do. Depending on what happens, I make my decision from there. I put myself in this position, so there is nothing I can really do about it other than practice and get ready for these events. I need to go win, win, win, and there you go. It takes care of things. But I just have to do what I have to do.
“I am going to go to where I feel that I have the best chances of competing and winning golf tournaments. This is what it is all about – giving the guys opportunity. Like I have said before, this is a great stepping stone. It is great.”
Grace is an experienced golfer, having won several tournaments. He achieved two victories on the PGA Tour, winning the prestigious RBC Heritage event in 2016. He’s also got nine European Tour wins to his name, including the 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Grace did win LIV’s tournament in Portland in 2022 but has struggled for form since.

Vincent is also in the same position as Grace, playing on the tour, while making similar statements on hoping to return while moving to the Asian tour.
He said: “As I am reflecting, I know I must take those things that I learned forward – this is a journey. I had an amazing experience playing on LIV Golf, what a dream to play against the best players in the world on the biggest stages across the world.
“I have got so much to be thankful for. But what can I learn and what can I use to move forward, progress and continue from here? Because on The International Series I still get to play golf at the highest level as a professional, and very few people do that. I need to be grateful for that.”
