Taylor Swift received that money from the Eras tour and it put her at the top of the Forbes list of the richest female musicians of 2024.
The “Fortnight” and “Anti-Hero” singer surpassed Rihanna on the music industry’s list of the richest women this year, amassing an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion.
Forbes reported that Swift, who became a billionaire in October 2023 , claimed the top spot thanks to earnings from her successful Eras tour and the value of her catalog. Notably, the 34-year-old singer is the first artist to become a billionaire primarily thanks to her songs and performances, according to the financial publication.

Rihanna, the hitmaker behind “Umbrella” and founder of Fenty Beauty, which took the No. 1 spot on the list last year, continues to shine bright like a diamond. The “Diamonds” singer has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, thanks in part to her successful cosmetics line (a joint venture with luxury giant LVMH) and her lingerie brand Savage x Fenty.

Swift has reportedly amassed $600 million in royalties and touring. According to Forbes, the portions of her catalog she owns are also worth about $600 million. She also owns about $125 million in real estate.
The 14-time Grammy winner now sits at number two on the list of the richest musicians, male and female, one spot behind Jay-Z, who is reported to have an estimated fortune of $2.5 billion. She also ranks 24th on the list of self-made women in the United States and 14th on the list of famous billionaires (as of April).
The singer-songwriter and her legion of Swifties wield impressive power — and she’s well aware of their influence . The unprecedented demand for her Eras tour led to jilted Swifties filing a class-action lawsuit against Ticketmaster and resulted in a Congressional investigation into the ticketing giant’s parent company, Live Nation. Not to mention, the “Shake it Off” singer’s Eras concerts have boosted local economies and literally sparked seismic activity across the country .
