Donald Trump admitted to Joe Rogan what his ‘biggest mistake’ was as President on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast Friday night.

Trump opened up about his election campaign and time as president during his long-awaited chat on Rogan’s show. The Republican candidate’s appearance came after the UFC commentator had previously expressed disinterest in hosting Trump. But Rogan revealed he changed his mind after Trump was shot in the ear at a Pennsylvania rally.

The conversation took a turn to Trump’s White House tenure, confessing to “bad choices” in picking his cabinet members despite him attributing his “success” to his decisions and Supreme Court nominations. He said to Rogan: “The one mistake… I will say it always comes back to the same answer, the biggest mistake I made… I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked.”

He labeled them as “neocons (neoconservative), or bad people, or disloyal people”. Trump called out two ex-administration officials: John Kelly, his former chief of staff, and John Bolton, his national security adviser. Both have been vocal critics post-Trump administration.

Kelly has even claimed Trump admired Adolf Hitler and cautioned that Trump would “govern like a dictator if allowed”, allegations Trump has refuted. Earlier this week, The New York Times reported a quote from Kelly stating he had seen Trump show admiration for the Nazi leader, praising “Hitler’s generals.”

In response, Trump took to his Truth Social platform, denouncing Kelly as a “degenerate…..who made up a story out of pure Trump Derangement Syndrome Hatred. This guy had two qualities, which don’t work well together,” he continued. “He was tough and dumb. John Kelly is a low life.” Trump also revisited his animosity towards Kelly on the podcast, labeling him “a bully but a weak person” and calling him “bad,” while also slamming Bolton as “an idiot.”

In the same interview, Rogan questioned Trump about his claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him against Joe Biden. Trump responded, “That election was so crooked, it was the most crooked election,” However, when pressed to present evidence for his accusation, Trump diverted to discuss the Hunter Biden laptop saga, initially broken by the New York Post before the 2020 election.

A letter from 51 former intelligence officials at the time of publication said “they believed that the contents of the laptop – full of evidence of drug use, prostitution and foreign business deals – could be part of a Russian campaign aimed at influencing the election,” as reported by the Times.

On Rogan’s show, Trump reiterated unverified GOP claims that the doubts raised about the laptop’s authenticity aided Biden’s election victory.
