Alvin Kamara received an irresistible offer from a local brewery after signing his two-year, $24.5 million contract extension with the New Orleans Saints. Abita Beer, a well-known Louisiana brewery, announced they were ready to grant the star running back “a lifetime supply of beer,” hailing him as a “loyal king” of New Orleans.
Kamara seemed enthusiastic to claim his prize, humorously responding on X (formerly Twitter) with, “Do you need my address… how we do this?”
The new deal ensures Kamara, who has spent his entire eight-year NFL career with the Saints, will remain with the team through the 2026 season. His commitment to New Orleans wasn’t always certain this offseason, as he had skipped the end of the Saints’ mandatory minicamp while pushing for a new contract.
Though he refrained from a full holdout, Kamara expressed his desire to stay with the team he loves. “I want to be a Saint,” he said in July. “I want to retire here.” Now, with his extension in place, Kamara’s dedication to the team has been rewarded, not only with his new contract but also with local businesses showing appreciation, like Abita’s free beer offer.
