Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson added yet another signature play to his extensive highlight tape.

With just over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter of Thursday’s matchup between the Vikings and Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota’s Sam Darnold dropped back in the pocket and floated a pass in the direction of Jefferson, who was tied to the hip with cornerback Darious Williams.

As Williams tugged on the front numbers of his jersey, Jefferson reached out with one hand and momentarily squeezed the football between his forearm and bicep. Once the ball dislodged itself, he snatched it out of the air with his other hand and balanced it over his shoulder – all while managing to get two feet in bounds.

The 27-yard connection set the Vikings up with a first and goal on the Rams’ four-yard line. But Minnesota wasn’t able to punch the ball into the endzone, instead settling for a field goal and 17-14 lead.

Taking to social media, fans commended Jefferson for pulling off the juggling catch. “How did he do that,” one fan asked, with another adding: “Ooof can’t get much better than that. But keep trying.”

A third emphatically declared: “JUSTIN JEFFERSON IS THE BEST WR IN THE LEAGUE.”

Once the dust had finally settled on the Rams’ 30-20 win over the Vikings, Jefferson finished the contest with eight receptions for 115 yards and zero touchdowns. Despite suffering a disheartening loss, the 25-year-old still has much to be happy about on the heels of his historic performance.

Upon reeling in his first catch of the game – a 10-yard reception – Jefferson surpassed Jake Reed for the fifth-most receiving yards in Vikings franchise history. Adam Thielen (6,682), Anthony Carter (7,636), Randy Moss (9,316), and Cris Carter (12,383) are the only players who rank above him on the all-time leaderboard.

With the strong showing, Jefferson additionally broke a streak of four consecutive games without triple-digit receiving yards. Ahead of Thursday’s contest, he conceded that recently falling to eclipse the 100-yard mark was weighing on his mind.

“I’m definitely sick of having these 80-, 90-yard games. I definitely have to get over that hump of 100 yards. That’s definitely my plan,” he said on Tuesday, per The Associated Press.

Despite not feeling on the same page at times with Darnold, Jefferson asserted that the quarterback-receiver duo was close to clicking on all cylinders.

“If you see it on tape, the explosive plays are all over the field, not just me. They’re all over the field, and we’ve just got to be dialed in, all 11, to execute those plays and to give Sam a little bit more time,” he said.

“So it’s going to be one of these games that we’re going to show the world what we’re really capable of, and hopefully it’s Thursday night.”
