Tampa Bay Buccaneers star receiver Mike Evans became just the ninth player in NFL history to record 100 touchdown receptions in his career – only to go down with a hamstring injury which could threaten his incredible streak of 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
On Monday night, Evans’ Bucs flew out the gates to lead the Baltimore Ravens at home. In the first quarter, Baker Mayfield dropped back and threw a 25-yard scoring dart to Evans, who has been in dominant form this season.
Having led the NFL with 13 touchdown catches in 2023, Evans now has six scores already this season with the grab against the Ravens representing his 100th career touchdown reception. After beating his opponent, Evans turned to haul in Mayfield’s laser and give the Bucs the lead.

Evans’ epic score means he is the ninth receiver in NFL history to tally 100 receiving touchdowns. The 31-year-old follows Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Marvin Harrison, Cris Carter, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Largent, and Tim Brown. All of Evans’ touchdowns have come for the Buccaneers, who signed him to an extension this offseason.
Evans also became the fifth fastest player to reach 100 career receiving touchdowns in NFL history, behind only Hall-of-Famers Rice, Moss, Owens, and Harrison. The Bucs receiver has been dominant since entering the league as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, setting the record for the most 1,000-yard campaigns to start a career with seven.
He has since hit double-digits and is sitting on 310 yards through Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season. However, Evans exited the clash with the Ravens midway through the second quarter after going down while attempting to haul in his second touchdown of the game.
On second-and-7, Mayfield fired a pass toward Evans, who got his hands to the ball but dropped it on a hit by cornerback Brandon Stephens. He could not hold on and was seen clutching his right thigh in visible pain following the pass breakup in the end zone.

Evans remained on the ground for several moments but was eventually able to get up and limp to the locker room. However, the receiver – who entered the clash with the Ravens with hamstring issues – was swiftly ruled out of the remainder of the Monday Night Football contest with a hamstring injury.
Last week, Evans was limited ahead of the clash with the New Orleans Saints due to a lingering hamstring issue. He ultimately played through the injury, tallying two catches for 34 yards in the dominant 51-27 Bucs triumph.
In the week leading up to the clash with the Ravens, Evans missed two days of practice before returning to a limited session on Saturday. He was cleared to play and caught a first-quarter touchdown before departing the action before halftime.
Evans needs to be on the field if he is going to record another 1,000-yard receiving season. The Bucs face the 4-3 Atlanta Falcons in an NFC South showdown on Sunday, Oct. 27.
