The daughter of Arnold Palmer previously remarked that her father used to “cringe” at Donald Trump – as controversy ensues following his lewd comments about the late golfer.
The Republican Party nominee for the United States presidency is currently on the campaign trail as he looks to succeed Joe Biden in the White House. During the previous weekend, Trump travelled to Pennsylvania, addressing the crowd at a rally at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in the sporting icon’s hometown of Latrobe.
During the event, which also saw former NFL player Antonio Brown give a speech, the former Oval Office incumbent provided recollections of a bizarre encounter with Palmer. For 12 minutes, Trump regaled his audience with tales regarding the size of the golf legend’s manhood.

“This is a guy that was all man,” he claimed, in a vulgar admission that came amid other tales about Palmer’s early life growing up in the are. He continued saying: “When he took showers with the other pros they came out saying ‘Oh my God.’ I had to say it… I had to tell you the shower part because it’s true.”
Now, remarks from the seven-time major winner’s daughter have emerged, with Peg Palmer having revealed to Sporting News back in 2018 that her father had disapproved of Trump’s approach to political life. The golfer passed away aged 87, just prior to the Republican’s election as president back in 2016.
She recalled: “My dad didn’t like people who act like they’re better than other people. He had no patience for people who are dishonest and cheat. My dad was disciplined. He wanted to be a good role model. He was appalled by Trump’s lack of civility and what he began to see as Trump’s lack of character.”

The 62-time PGA Tour event winner was known for his conservative leanings during his lifetime, and counted the former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower as personal friend. However, Palmer audibly aired his dismay over the nomination of Trump ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
“My dad made a sound of disgust – like “uck” or “ugg” – like he couldn’t believe the arrogance and crudeness of this man who was the nominee of the political party that he believed in,” Peg continued, as she also revealed: “Then he said, “He’s not as smart as we thought he was.”
Likewise, in the aftermath of Trump’s comments in Latrobe, Palmer’s daughter informed the Independent that she disapproved with the politician’s remarks. She said: “I thought it was an unfortunate way to remember my dad… appropriating my dad in this situation… seems inappropriate.
“My father was very modest. We’ve lost our sense of outrage in this country over just about everything, and I’m not sure that’s OK… There are other things about my dad that would be better to focus on.”
