Braxton Berrios suffered a knee injury in the Miami Dolphins’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts with fears that he may have torn his ACL.

The Dolphins slot receiver and kick-off returner is said to have suffered a “significant” knee injury in the game after a 26-yard return, being just the latest Miami player likely to miss much of the season.

Miami was down to it’s third-choice quarterback in the game, with Tua Tagovailoa being ruled out for several weeks after suffering another concussion – believed to be his fourth in the last two seasons with him not eligible to return until week 8. Miami has struggled hugely without Tagovailoa, as Tyler Huntley stepped into his place in recent weeks – before he also suffered an injury in the loss.

Berrios is set to undergo an MRI scan on Monday to confirm the extent of the injury, with he and social media personality Alix Earle awaiting the news.

The 29-year-old has had little impact on the team as a wide receiver, but is a beloved teammate on the Dolphins and his seen his popularity rise due to his relationship with Earle, after previously being with Sophia Culpo – the sister of Christian McCaffrey’s wife Olivia Culpo.

Earle teased being in a relationship with a player in the NFL for multiple months but hid his identity while naming him an “NFL man.” Despite this, fans quickly worked out that Berrios was the individual with the two going public with their relationship in the summer of 2023.

Earle has 3.7 million followers on her Instagram page and 7.1 on her TikTok, the platform which she gained popularity on whilst posting her ‘get ready with me’ and ‘a day in the life’ videos – including Berrios over the past year.

Berrios is in his sixth year in the NFL, being drafted by the New England Patriots before spending four years with the New York Jets and joining the Miami Dolphins in 2023 – in a crowded receiver room alongside the likes of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Odell Beckham Jr.
