The New Orleans Saints, once riding high on a strong start to the 2024 season, now find themselves in a tailspin, having lost five consecutive games. As the team faces growing uncertainty and contemplates their next moves to salvage the season, one topic that has generated speculation is the future of star running back Alvin Kamara.
However, despite the swirling rumors, it appears that Kamara won’t be part of any trade discussions.
On Saturday morning, Kamara took to social media to directly address the rumors suggesting he wanted out of New Orleans. With a blunt message, he shot down any notion of requesting a trade from the struggling team. “I (ain’t) request a trade… so that’s a lie,” Kamara wrote, putting an end to the speculation. He also added a humorous detail about his weekend plans, stating, “I’m in an orange robe on the way to Knoxville,” referring to his trip to watch his alma mater, the University of Tennessee, take on Alabama.
Kamara played for the Volunteers during the 2015 and 2016 seasons before embarking on his professional career.

Kamara has been a cornerstone of the Saints’ offense throughout his eight-year tenure with the team, earning five Pro Bowl selections and consistently being one of the NFL’s most dynamic dual-threat running backs. He currently stands just 233 yards shy of surpassing Mark Ingram as the franchise’s all-time leading rusher, a milestone that further cements his legacy in New Orleans.
Despite the team’s recent struggles, Kamara’s commitment to the Saints seems unwavering, and his social media message makes it clear that he has no intention of jumping ship.
The Saints, now preparing for their upcoming matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on October 27, will need all the help they can get to turn their season around, and having Kamara remain part of the picture is a key element to their hopes of bouncing back.
