BREAKING NEWS: Drake Maye Shares Honest Reflections on His First Start with the New England Patriots Despite Tough Loss — A Candid Look at His Performance and Learning Experience .giang

Drake Maye has big shoes to fill as he attempts to stop the rot at the New England Patriots.

The 22-year-old is the latest starting quarterback trying to live up to what Tom Brady did in New England for 20 years, leading the Patriots to six Super Bowl wins.

Since then, Patriots fans have suffered four largely miserable seasons and this one could be the worst of the lot, with five defeats in their first six games.

Maye became the latest man in the middle last week and should start his second game today at Wembley as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But while he has only one start in his career, London won’t seem alien to him, as he has previous with the city, including being here for the Olympics.

“I had some family that lived in London,” said Maye, whose family like to travel. “My uncle did, and me and my family went to the Olympics in 2012.

“They live in California now and my brother plays basketball in Japan.”

His dad, Mark, was also a quarterback, playing for the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks of the now-defunct World League of American Football. Mark was part of the Skyhawks team that lost at the old Wembley in 1991 against the London Monarchs.

Drake lost last week but he threw three touchdown passes in his first start and reckons that has given him the belief that he can be an NFL success.

[“Having had my first start] I think I will get more confident as the week goes on.

“It will be a little different this week being overseas. It helps getting that first one last week.

“Now, going overseas to London to play, in front of a big crowd out there, it will pretty cool to see the NFL playing overseas. And we’ve got a chance to get a win.”
