Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested for alleged DUI and possession of a handgun Thursday in Tennessee.

Per TMZ Sports, Cutler was charged with driving under the influence, failure to exercise due care, violation of implied consent law and possession of a handgun while under the influence.

The Franklin Police Department confirmed to TMZ that Cutler was booked into Williamson County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.

Additional details of Cutler’s arrest have not been made available at this time.

Cutler had a 12-year NFL career from 2006 to ’17 with three different teams. He was originally drafted with the 11th overall pick by the Denver Broncos and spent three seasons with the club. He threw for 4,528 yards and made the Pro Bowl in his final year in Denver.

The Broncos traded Cutler to the Chicago Bears prior to the 2009 season. He led them to a division title and appearance in the NFC Championship Game in his second season with the Bears.

Chicago went 27-13 with Cutler as its starting quarterback during a three-season stretch from 2010 to ’12. The team had a streak of four consecutive non-losing seasons from 2010 to ’13, the longest such streak for the franchise since 1984 to ’88.

After eight seasons with the Bears, Cutler retired and took a broadcasting job with Fox Sports in May 2017. He was lured back to the field three months later when the Miami Dolphins needed a quarterback after Ryan Tannehill suffered a season-ending injury.

Following the 2017 season, Cutler retired again for good. He finished his career with a 74-79 record in 153 starts.
