Caitlin Clark’s WNBA season might be over, but that does not mean the star guard is immune to agonizing moments, though this time, the moment occurred at the golf course.
In a recent TikTok video, Clark is seen teeing it up with her Fever teammate Lexie Hull, as she has been wont to do since Indiana’s season ended at the hands of the Connecticut Sun. On a sunny day, Clark teed off and as soon as she hit it, Hull could be heard saying “Caitlin, that could be in.”
Once the ball landed on the green and the group saw where it landed, Hull exclaimed “Oh my God” as Clark began to run in anticipation of the ball dropping into the hole. However, the ball remained in place as the 22-year-old repeatedly said “No” at her unfortunate luck, especially with the ball sitting just inches away.

After hopping and slightly screaming at the prospect that she was just inches away from a hole-in-one, all Clark could muster was a weak “wow” before falling onto the grass. She then shot back up and asked to double-check if the ball indeed remained out of the hole before eventually walking to the green to check the distance herself.
Upon seeing just how close she was from the hole, the star guard pondered: “Is this like a ‘we’re good?’ We’re going to call this a birdie?” Though Hull said no, it didn’t matter to Clark, who calmly sank the putt after her display just moments before.
After she sank the birdie, Clark similarly pumped her fist to golf legend Tiger Woods whenever he would sink an impressive putt. Clark then let out one more “Woo!” as she celebrated her impressive sequence on the course.

While Clark is a basketball player by trade, her love and passion for golf cannot be understated. In mid-November, the 22-year-old is set to compete at The Annika with Annika Sorenstam, the penultimate event on the LPGA Tour schedule, showing how proficient she is at the sport.
Ahead of the tournament, Clark explained just how excited she was for the opportunity to compete in pro-am in a sport that she holds dearly to her chest. “I love golf so the opportunity to play in the Pro-Am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s on it is so exciting,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women’s Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika.”
Clark venturing into the world of golf calls to mind her comments after the Fever’s season came to an end. Speaking to reporters, she stated: “I’m gonna play some golf. That’s what I’m gonna do until it becomes too cold in Indiana. I’ll become a professional golfer.”
Additionally, with basketball taking up so much of her life in the last year or so, Clark is welcoming the change of pace. “So I feel like taking some time to myself and really enjoying that, reflecting back,” she said. “It was special.
“There were a lot of things that this group accomplished that a lot of people probably didn’t think was possible. It’ll definitely be a little weird for me over the course of the first couple of weeks, then I’m sure I’ll get bored and pick up a basketball again.”
