Davante Adams’ future with the Las Vegas Raiders remains uncertain as no trade has yet materialized to move the star receiver off the roster. Nearly two weeks ago, Adams formally requested a trade, and while several teams have been rumored as potential destinations—including the New Orleans Saints—NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo has suggested that the New York Jets may now be the only realistic landing spot for the All-Pro wideout.
“One connected source involved said, ‘Sorta feels like Jets or bust right now,’” Garafolo reported on Sunday, adding a significant twist to the ongoing trade saga.
The Jets have emerged as a prime candidate for Adams, but according to Garafolo, trade discussions between the Jets and Raiders have stalled, largely due to internal turmoil within the Jets organization. New York recently fired head coach Robert Saleh, which has put trade talks on hold as the team addresses leadership issues.
However, with the Jets gearing up for a crucial Monday Night Football matchup against the Buffalo Bills, the outcome of that game could prove pivotal in determining whether the Jets make a strong push to acquire Adams.
“Maybe it’s going to depend on what happens Monday night with the Jets-Bills game,” Garafolo elaborated on The Insiders. “If the Jets win, they’re in first place, and they might say, ‘Hey, here’s the final piece.’ In fact, one connected source involved said, ‘It sort of feels like Jets or bust right now.’”

The Jets are in a competitive AFC East division race, and adding a game-changing talent like Adams could solidify their playoff aspirations. With quarterback Zach Wilson showing signs of improvement, the Jets may see Adams as the missing link that could bolster their offense and elevate them to serious Super Bowl contenders.
While the Jets appear to be a leading suitor, there are still significant hurdles to overcome. Compensation remains a sticking point in the negotiations, as the Raiders will likely demand a hefty return for their star receiver.
