NBA legend and NASCAR team owner Michael Jordan has given his iconic “Air Jordan” nickname and “Take Flight” slogan a luxurious new meaning with the purchase of a brand-new Gulfstream G650er private jet.
Reports suggest the aircraft’s price ranges between $65 and $70 million, adding a lavish addition to Jordan’s collection of luxury vehicles and assets. The jet is registered to Jordan under his company, MJ AIR LLC, and its tail number, N236MJ, features his initials. The Federal Aviation Administration [FAA] issued a certificate for the jet on Oct 1, officially allowing it to take to the skies.
According to Flight Aware, a popular flight-tracking website, Jordan has kept the aircraft’s movements private. With the new pop culture obsession of super fans tracking their favorite celebs, including Taylor Swift, the Chicago Bulls legend ensured that his flight plans remain unavailable for public tracking at their owner’s request.

Jordan’s new Gulfstream G650er features a Rolls-Royce BR700 engine installed in a select group of 3,600 models. It’s a fixed-wing, multi-engine turbofan aircraft designed to comfortably transport up to 13 passengers while offering three distinct living areas.
The jet’s exterior features a paint job to match the original model of the “Bred” Jordan 3, which has a black base with a gray cement print from nose to tail and a Jumpman Jordan logo on the tail win.

While the inside of Jordan’s personalized jet has yet to be revealed, the base model of the aircraft shows photos on the official Gulfstream website. From the inside, passengers can look out into the air through sixteen panoramic oval windows, the most on the market of its class. Its purpose is to provide natural light for riders on their flight.
The interior is decorated with tan, quilted leather reclining seats and pullout wooden tables for dining. It has full carpeting and furnishings, including couches, pillows, and blankets. The jet’s capabilities can handle long-distance travel, with a maximum range of 8,620 miles.
It can fly nonstop from Tokyo to Florida, making it the ideal choice for someone like Jordan, who travels around the globe for business and personal ventures. Jordan now joins a prestigious group of Gulfstream G650er owners, including billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk, further cementing his status among the financial elite.
Several reports have indicated that Jordan’s plane has flown just 16 times, all for either testing the aircraft or transporting it to his location.
