TAMPA, FLA. (WSVN) – The Florida Aquarium in Tampa is ramping up its preparations for Hurricane Milton to safeguard its marine wildlife. In a concerted effort, staff members are relocating thousands of coral to secure locations and ensuring the safety of various aquatic species.
Among the creatures being moved is a sea turtle that was rescued after Hurricane Helene’s storm surge.
As a precautionary measure, the aquarium will be closed to the public from Tuesday through Thursday. Stay tuned for further updates on their operations and any changes related to the hurricane.
