CeeDee Lamb’s Interaction with Dak Prescott ‘Doesn’t Look Good’ Ahead of a Dramatic Late Win, Raising Questions About Team Dynamics and Communication on the Field .giang

Trouble appeared to be brewing on the Dallas Cowboys sideline after wide receiver CeeDee Lamb seemed to give quarterback Dak Prescott a piece of his mind.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, Prescott eventually led the team to a dramatic late win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. After throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble, Prescott eventually threw a game-winner to Jalen Tolbert with just 20 seconds remaining to move to 3-2 after a tough afternoon.

With just under one minute remaining in the first half of the Cowboys’ 20-17 comeback victory on Sunday, Prescott attempted to throw a back-shoulder pass to Lamb in the front-left corner of the endzone. The errant toss instead fell into the waiting arms of cornerback Donte Jackson, who corralled the interception along the sideline before stepping out of bounds at the two-yard line.

Rather than building upon their lead, the Cowboys were subsequently forced to enter halftime only up 6-3. Following a six play, 72-yard touchdown drive to open the third quarter, the Steelers jumped out to a 10-6 lead.

As the Cowboys offense trotted onto the field for their first drive of the third quarter, NBC’s broadcast displayed what looked to be a tense moment on the sideline involving Lamb and Prescott. Moments after the latter’s costly mistake, the former approached him and on the bench and sternly said something in his direction.

“Hard to explain, just throwing it into coverage and something is wrong,” broadcaster Cris Collinsworth said of the play. “CeeDee Lamb at the end of that, I’ll let you read your own lips at Dak. Dak doesn’t react at all. Doesn’t look good.”

Play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico expressed a similar sentiment, agreeing: “Not a bit. Not a bit.”

Taking to social media, droves of amateur lip readers provided their two cents on what Lamb said to Prescott during the heated interaction. Many believed that the disgruntled wideout was criticising the signal-caller’s throw, stating: “Sub par throw, sub par dak.”

Others speculated that Lamb was actually offering Prescott words of encouragement, telling the 31-year-old: “Jump balls 4, Jump balls I got you.”

Former FOX Sports personality Skip Bayless provided his own thoughts on the incident, asserting that Lamb appeared less than pleased with his quarterback’s play. “I’m not a great lip reader, so I’m not sure what CeeDee said to Dak on the sideline. But I don’t think it was, ‘Hang in there,’” he wrote on X.

In a separate post, Bayless added: “I’m seeing that maybe CeeDee said to Dak on the sideline, “Sub-par throw.” That’s actually putting it nicely about the interception. But no star QB wants to hear that from his star receiver. That could set their bridge on fire.”

Prior to their alleged verbal scuffle, Prescott connected with Lamb on an incredible throw and catch in the first quarter. On third-and-14, he uncorked a 27-yard bullet down the sideline to the 25-year-old, who managed to get both feet in before getting rocked by two Steelers defenders.

Despite reeling in four catches in the first half, Lamb was mostly a non-factor in the second. He recorded just one catch on five targets in the closing 30 minutes of the game.
