In a recent episode of Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles surprised fans by naming Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as her favorite NFL player, even placing him above her own husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens. While Biles has always been vocal in her support for Owens, she couldn’t help but marvel at Mahomes’ extraordinary skills on the field.
Biles acknowledged Owens’ impressive journey as an undrafted player now thriving in his seventh NFL season, but when asked about her favorite player outside of her husband, she didn’t hesitate.
“Besides my husband, I really think we always go back to Patrick Mahomes,” she told Heyward during the podcast.

“It’s very sentimental, and he has an ‘S’ on his ring finger as an ode to me,” Biles explained. “He loves me so much, and I love him, and I knew that it would be such a big surprise.” She admitted that she had previously told Owens she wouldn’t get a tattoo, making her decision even more special.
“I wanted to surprise him because he already got his, and I kept telling him, ‘No, I’m not doing it,’” Biles recalled. “So, he actually woke up in the middle of the night, and I had just landed in San Francisco, and he was like, ‘I am going to cry.’” The sweet moment was a testament to the couple’s bond and how much they mean to each other.
Biles’ tattoo tribute came not long after her historic return to gymnastics at the Paris Olympics, where she earned three gold medals, cementing her status as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
