It’s never easy to see a dog struggling, let alone an entire family of them.
Sadly, every day, we see more and more dogs being abandoned by their owners. To make things worse, they are left in all kinds of places, not just shelters.
Many of these four-legged furballs end up struggling by roads, in the woods, in landfills, or in other dirty locations, with no food or proper shelter. Living in such conditions, their chances of survival are very low, were it not for kind-hearted people who make it their mission to help them.
Recently, two kind rescuers stumbled upon five infant puppies and their mom struggling on the side of the road. Seeing the entire family in what could only be described as the worst of conditions, the rescuers immediately stopped to help.
She Was Desperate To Help Her Pups
It is not clear how these puppies ended up by the road, although the reason is pretty obvious. Probably abandoned by the one person they trusted the most, these pups, alongside their momma, ended up with nothing but an old, dirty blanket.
No one knows how long they had to endure the uncertainty of the road. When rescuers arrived, all of them looked extremely distressed and were in urgent need of help.
The puppies were no more than a few days old. Their eyes were still closed and they needed their momma’s closeness to remain warm. But, most of all, they needed their momma’s milk!
Sadly, due to the lack of food, this heartbroken Pug momma was unable to feed her babies. All they could do was wait for someone kind to offer them a warm home and the chance for a new start. And, that happened quite soon!
After picking up the puppies from the ground, the rescuers spent some time convincing the momma to come with them.
She obviously had trust issues and wasn’t ready to give in at first, but the rescuers didn’t lose faith. With some kind words and delicious treats, they, at last, managed to lure the mom dog into the crate.
Little did she know that those exact steps would change her life completely!
A New Life Chapter
For the first time in what seemed like forever, both the momma and her puppies were safe!
They were safely brought to the rescuers’ house and taken care of around the clock. And, the momma received all the nutrients necessary for nursing.
Within just days, their situation changed entirely. Once shivering, emaciated pups next to their fearful mom, they all transformed into a happy family that couldn’t be more grateful! It was just beyond rewarding to see these babies blossom into strong, cheerful pups.
Almost a week later, all of the puppies opened their eyes for the first time. Instead of facing the harsh reality, the first thing they saw was their new home and their momma in it.
What a beautiful start to a beautiful life!
Even though they were now out of danger, this doggo family was still carefully monitored for potential issues. Luckily, weeks passed, and not a single pup showed symptoms of potential disease.
They grew more and more into strong, chubby pups with every new day. What once was sloppy, careful crawling turned into confident puppy steps and endless playtime.
Within a month, the pups needed mom’s milk no more. They now ‘argued’ with her about who’s gonna get that bowl of soft food first, and it was just hilarious and adorable at the same time.
Happy, safe, and sound, these six doggos seemed to have found their forever home – the one they had been waiting for since forever. And, now that they have it, I’m absolutely pawsitive they will never, ever let it go!
