The American Music Awards’ 50th Anniversary Special is gearing up for an unforgettable celebration! On Thursday, Oct. 3, CBS and Dick Clark Productions revealed an exciting lineup of star performers and presenters for the highly anticipated event, set to take place on Sunday, Oct. 6. This special show aims to honor the milestone year in lieu of the traditional annual award ceremony.
Among the newly announced performers are three-time AMA winner Nelly, along with Sheila E. and Nile Rodgers & CHIC. Nelly will team up with Chingy, J-Kwon, and the St. Lunatics for a special tribute to iconic hip-hop anthems. Meanwhile, Nile Rodgers & CHIC will treat the audience to their classic hit “Le Freak,” and Sheila E. will join forces with the previously announced performer Chaka Khan to deliver a powerful rendition of “I’m Every Woman.”
It’s set to be a night filled with unforgettable performances and a celebration of music history!

The American Music Awards’ 50th Anniversary Special promises to be a star-studded event! Alongside the exciting performances, the broadcast will feature special appearances from a lineup of celebrities, including Reba McEntire, actor Samuel L. Jackson, Kate Hudson, AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys, Cedric the Entertainer, *NSYNC member Lance Bass, and the legendary Smokey Robinson.
Last month, it was revealed that the special will also include performances by a diverse group of artists, such as Brad Paisley, Gladys Knight, Green Day, Jennifer Hudson, Kane Brown, Mariah Carey, RAYE, and Stray Kids. Notably, Brad Paisley is set to pay tribute to the late Charley Pride, the first AMA winner for country male and country album. Additionally, he will perform his new single “Truck Still Works,” which he debuted at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Music Awards.
With such an incredible lineup, this celebration is sure to be a memorable night honoring the rich history of the American Music Awards!
