Tina Knowles is beaming with pride over the values she instilled in her daughters! In a recent interview with Glamour for their 2024 Women of the Year edition, Tina, 70, shared insights on how she raised Beyoncé, 43, and Solange Knowles, 38, to treat others with respect and humility. She also affectionately referred to Kelly Rowland, 43, as her “bonus daughter.”
“I’m proud to say that I do see the things that I instilled in them — treat people well, do not get stuck on yourself,” she reflected. During the conversation, which included other influential mothers like Donna Kelce, 71, Maggie Baird, 65, and Mandy Teefey, 48, Tina recounted moments when she emphasized self-sufficiency, saying, “Listen, they can pick up their own suitcases.”
With a firm but loving tone, she added, “‘You look people in the eye, say hello, don’t turn into a diva. That’s not going to work here.’ You have to teach your kids that.” Tina expressed her belief that respect and humility are lessons that don’t just come naturally, especially in a world where people often cater to celebrity kids.
“I’m most proud when they’re good people,” she affirmed, highlighting her commitment to raising daughters who are not only successful but also kind and grounded.
