Kristen Bell recently revealed that her husband, Dax Shepard, is quite impressed with her on-screen chemistry with Adam Brody in the new Netflix rom-com, Nobody Wants This. In an interview with E! News, the Veronica Mars star shared Dax’s reaction to her steamy scenes with Brody.
“Even I can acknowledge watching it, like, ‘Whoa, that’s hot,’” Bell admitted. She went on to say that Dax watched the first episode and enthusiastically remarked, “Oh my God, I want you to kiss him so badly.” It seems that their playful dynamic extends beyond the screen, adding an extra layer of fun to Bell’s new project!

The series, which premiered on Netflix on September 26, tells the story of “an agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi [who] fall in love,” as described in the official synopsis. The plot raises the question, “But can their relationship survive their wildly different lives and meddling families?”
Despite the chemistry that has even her husband rooting for their on-screen romance, Bell revealed that mastering the art of seduction in the show wasn’t a walk in the park. The challenge of portraying such convincing moments added to the complexity of her role, making the dynamic between her and Adam Brody all the more captivating for viewers!

“I’m not trying to be reductive, but I think there’s a math to it,” she explained to E! News. “You have two actors that know how to stare dopily into each other’s eyes, and you have to have the confidence to expand that and really sit with the anticipatory value before the kiss — which I think is really important.”
Reflecting on their chemistry, Bell remarked, “Whether or not people want to see you end up with someone is a crap shoot, and we just kind of got lightning in a bottle.”
The actress, who shares daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, with husband Dax Shepard, emphasized that her attraction to this new role stemmed from the unique dynamics it presented.
