Aaron Rodgers Reveals His Knee is ‘A Little Swollen’ Following Injury in Jets’ Defeat to Broncos, Raising Concerns About His Recovery and Future Performances .giang

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is dealing with some swelling in his knee after the team’s 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 4.

Rodgers said Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show described the knee as “a little swollen” and chalked it up to “wear and tear.”

The Broncos sacked Rodgers five times and recorded 14 quarterback hits in their win. By the fourth quarter, he was clearly worse for the wear. After the game, he didn’t elaborate on what was ailing him, only telling reporters that “I’ve got stuff on both legs.”

Head coach Robert Saleh downplayed the situation and, like Rodgers on Tuesday, said it’s no different from the usual effects from an NFL game.

Rodgers’ health is a major subplot of the Jets’ season, though. He turns 41 in December and is coming off a major Achilles injury that limited him to four snaps in 2023.

New York is all too aware of how valuable the future Hall of Famer is toward achieving its larger aims in 2024. The team simply couldn’t recover from his absence last year, cycling through three different quarterbacks after his injury.

In Tyrod Taylor, the Jets added a more proven alternative compared to Zach Wilson, Trevor Siemian and Tim Boyle. But that doesn’t change the fact everything hinges on Rodgers staying on the field.

Fans are going to grow concerned when they see the 10-time Pro Bowler visibly favoring his left leg, the same one where he tore his Achilles. Having him cite wear and tear four games into a 17-game regular season isn’t all that reassuring, either.
