When the rescuers at The Animal Pad the rescue based in San Diego received a text and a photo of a stray dog with a swollen face they were surprised
The good people rushed to the location and met the dejected pup later named Marvel
When he looked at them with his beautiful green eyes filled with sorrow the good humans hearts sank
The rescuers were committed to doing everything in their power to help him

The kind people wished to chase away the hopelessness from Marvels eyes and give him a second chance at happiness
There was another dog named Captain who stayed close to Marvel trying to cheer him up
Captain had a Transmissible Venereal Tumor TVT and he needed help too
The gianthearted family who fed the dogs told the rescuers that Captain and Marvel were best friends They were always by each others side
The rescuers petted the canines reassuring them that their lives would change for the better
They picked them up and placed them in a car
Marvel and Captain were confused and they didnt know what was going on

As the rescue team rushed the dogs to a hospital in San Diego they kept wondering what was wrong with Marvels face
Nobody knew what the cause of the dogs facial swelling was
We dont know if this is a dog bite or wound gone wrong some sort of major infection TVT that he contracted from his friend Captain The Animal Pad wrote in an Instagram post

As soon as they arrived Marvel was taken to the ER and Captain stayed with the hospital staff Captain was the sweetest boi and he stole the staffers hearts
The doctor examined Marvel and took an Xray of his abscessed face
It was determined that the pup would need to have surgery
On April 18th 2024 The Animal Pad shared an update about Marvels condition on Instagram
We still arent sure what was going on to cause this and have some cultures pending but luckily it seems to have fully resolved Marvel underwent surgery to remove tissue and this significantly reduced inflammation to his face and neck immediately the rescue wrote
A week after he was rescued Marvel looked completely different The dogs facial swelling was gone and he looked normal His eyes radiated with newlyfound hope

Captain started receiving treatment for TVT and he was doing very well
The pup was in an excellent mood He felt safe and happy that he was getting the care and love he always wanted

The two friends couldnt see each other for some time after the surgery
When the day of their reunion finally came Marvel and Captain couldnt contain their excitement The doggos rushed into each others arms They were jumping with joy because they were finally reunited
They kept covering each other with hugs and kisses

Marvel and Captain want to forget about the difficult life on the streets and focus on the future
With their whole heart the pups wish to find humans who would love them unconditionally and who would show them how beautiful life can be
